Are you planning on bringing your dog with you to the Smoky Mountains? You may be looking for pet friendly establishments to visit when you stay in one of our pet friendly cabins! Luckily there are several restaurants and attractions you can visit that will welcome your dog with open arms! Here are 7 dog friendly places in Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains:
If you want to be able to walk around, relax, browse through shops, and grab a bite to eat with your pooch, visit The Island in Pigeon Forge. While there’s no guarantee you can take your dog into specific shops or attractions, they are allowed to hang out with you next to The Island Show Fountain and on outdoor patios at snack shops and restaurants. You might even spot other people there with their dogs!
When you’re hungry, head over to another dog friendly place in Pigeon Forge, Hard Rock Cafe. They have an outdoor patio where you and your furry best friend can enjoy the great outdoors while eating a delicious meal. You might even get to listen to live music if you’re there at the right time!
Another great spot that is pet friendly in Pigeon Forge is the Mountain Mile! This shopping and entertainment complex has a large outdoor space where you'll love running around with your dog! Whether you're relaxing by the fire pits, strolling through the lawn, or doing some window shopping, dogs are loved at this spot in Pigeon Forge! While it's up to individual business owners whether pets are allowed inside, some do allow dogs! One example is Junction 35 Spirits — whether you're doing a moonshine tasting or grabbing a bite to eat, your furry friend is welcome. The also have an outdoor dining area where you and your pet can sit back, relax, and enjoy the food and drinks.
Another place that's pet friendly in Pigeon Forge you'll want to try while you're in town is Mad Dog’s Creamery. This shop serves ice cream and donuts, so you’ll find a sweet treat that hits the spot for everyone, even your dog! They are also dog people, so in addition to human treats, you’ll find some treats for your dog to try.
Will your dog want to burn off energy before you head back to your cabin at the end of the day? Take them to the PetSafe Unleashed Dog Park in Sevierville. This is the only designated dog park in the Sevier County area, and your dog will be able to run around the fenced in park and play with other dogs. There is dog agility equipment, water, shade, and benches for you and your dog to enjoy!
Are you planning on spending time in Gatlinburg? Then you may be looking for dog friendly things to do downtown, and one of the most popular is Gatlinburg SkyPark! Your furry family member can ride to the top of the mountain on the chair lift with you and explore the observation deck, SkyBridge, and SkyTrail with you!
Of course, you can’t visit the Smokies without spending time in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Although dogs aren’t allowed on many trails in the park to prevent disturbances to native wildlife, they are allowed on the Gatlinburg Trail. Head out on a beautiful hike through the woods, across a river, and see some historic remains of old homesteads along this trail!
