Events are happening in the area, attractions are opening once again for the season, and the flowers and trees will be in bloom this spring in Gatlinburg. Dollywood, just up the road in Pigeon Forge, is named after and co-owned by country music singer Dolly Parton. Her joyful, upbeat music is played all throughout the park providing a pleasant atmosphere. The theme park is home to over 50 rides and and numerous entertaining shows! You’ll find hair raising roller coasters and gentle, relaxing rides. Dollywood has fun bluegrass shows, comedy shows, and more to see! There’s something here for everyone to enjoy. The park opens for a new season each March.
When you visit during spring in Gatlinburg you will be on the doorstep of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park! This is the most visited national park in the US, and for good reason! Our national park is free to enter — there's just a $5 daily parking pass fee — and inside you will find inspiring mountain views, beautiful woodlands, and maybe even some furry creatures running around. Cades Cove is the most popular destination inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is an 11 mile loop that can be navigated by car, bike, or horseback. Along it you will come across rustic cabins, old churches, and other primitive structures. Cades Cove is also a great place to see native wildlife like deer, turkey, and bears, making it one of the funnest things to do in Gatlinburg during spring.
